Neugebauer Statement on Vote to Prevent Late-Term Abortions

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 1797, the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.  The legislation passed the House by a vote of 228 to 196.

“I was proud to cast a vote to stop unethical abortions that cause tremendous pain for unborn infants.  This legislation puts restrictions in place against dangerous late-term abortions and protects mothers and babies from painful and hazardous procedures.”

The need for H.R. 1797 was highlighted by the recent trial of Kermit Gosnell, an abortion provider who performed horrific late-term abortions, killing infants who survived his abortion attempts.

Neugebauer has long been an advocate for unborn children, most recently working to keep abortion providers out of public schools by introducing the PRO-LIFE Act.
